This document describes FLARM Eagle WiFi update procedure.
General
FLARM Eagle WiFi can be updated via device's WiFi portal. The firmware consists of two parts: Application and File system. Both parts have to be updated individually by the following procedure.
Procedure
- Connect to FLARM Eagle WiFi access point and open portal.
- Go to Tranfer > Update Eagle
- Select update file under "Application" subsection. Every official update package comes with two files. For application we always select file that does NOT contain keyword "spiffs" in filename. For version 1.1.321 and later this file always has .app extension (earlier versions have .bin).
- Touch "Upload" button. The upload process is indicated by message "Uploading... This might take a while" in the bottom of the page.
- Unfortunately there is no progress bar. The upload is finished when either the portal closes by itself or after 5 minutes of inactivity. After 5 minutes we can close the portal manually and reconnect.
- Repeat the procedure for File system update (go to Transfer > Update Eagle > Select file under File system subsection). For file system we always select file that CONTAINS keyword "spiffs". For version 1.1.321 and later this file always has .sfs extension (earlier versions have .bin)
- Touch "Upload" button. The upload is finished when either the portal closes by itself or after 5 minutes of inactivity.
NOTE: Normally the application upload takes less or around 30 seconds and filesystem around 1 minute but depends on the connection as well.
