Is the Zeus system an IGC flight recorder?
Yes, the Zeus system is an IGC flight recorder with ENL without limitation. The flight recorder itself is placed inside the variometer which has a backup battery for up to 3 hours.

What happens if I lose power supply?
Zeus will shut down, but the variometer will run on its internal backup battery for up to 3 hours. All navigation and other settings remain untouched.
How to get the right cutout for Zeus' shape?
We include a fiberglass template in the box for a hands-on approach and .dwg files for CNC cutting online.
How long does the installation of the Zeus system take?
The most time-demanding thing with a blank instrument panel installation is the cutout. All wiring is plug-and-play, so it usually takes a day of work once the instrument panel is ready.

Is Zeus' system easy to use?
Very. We’ve put many man-hours in making the system as simple and intuitive to use as possible. Only two push-rotary knobs and 8 labeled push buttons make the user interface.
Does it have weather support?
Yes, our new varios with WiFi allow Zeus to access all cloud-connected services, including weather services.
Is there any difference between standalone and Zeus version variometers?
No, you get a fully-featured standalone variometer with your Zeus.
Is Zeus designed only for competition gliding?
No, Zeus was designed to be easy to use, with marked buttons, so each function can be reached within 2 presses of buttons to support a club pilot as well as advanced competition pilot.
Which are the best features and functions?
Simplicity of the user interface, general navigation and the fact that you get a standalone vario, which works on itself without limitation, when you lose your main power supply.
Does it have straight-flight wind calculation?
Yes, it uses an iterative method for straight flight wind calculation, which proved so good, we decided the compass module is not needed anymore.

Is it compatible with the LX Joy?
Yes, it is and it is strongly recommended to include it in your Zeus system.

Connectivity

The Era of connectivity is here

All new Zeus systems come with a Wi-Fi module as standard. The Wi-Fi is in the vario unit, allowing for it to function even when the main power supply is used up.

Use the connectivity module and the LX could to automatically update your device, sync your database files, upload and backup flights to your personal and club account, get weather information and OLC and similar flight uploads.
Backup system

We have your back

Our system in comprised in such a way, that all sensors, including the GPS and connectivity module, are located in the vario device and are backed up with the internal battery.

This way, even if you happen to loose your main power supply, the vario will continue to log your flight with IGC security valid, and the vario-based simple navigation will continue to guide you throughout your flight.

Connect Zeus system with other devices

Being able to communicate with phones, PDA/PNA devices, radio transceivers and transponders, as well as communication with the LX cloud and all related cloud services, opens the usefulness of the system greatly, reducing the pilot workload.

Easy to cut-out. You get cut-out files

Exact cut-outs are simple to achieve with the provided cut-out fibre-glass guide and .dxf files for CNC cutting.

7 connectors for all possible

Utilizing two push-rotary knobs instead of legacy four rotary knobs, reduces the amount of distance the hand needs to travel in order to access settings and keeps the screen clean, since the hand will not cover it with those top rotaries.
